Bellarmine University is a private Catholic university in Louisville, Kentucky. It opened on October 3, 1950, as Bellarmine College, founded by Archbishop John A. Floersch of the Archdiocese of Louisville and named for Saint Robert Bellarmine. It became Bellarmine University in 2000 .
