Follow these steps to apply Ca' Foscari University of Venice
Review the programs and choose the one that suits you
The first step is to familiarize yourself with the Ca' Foscari programs, the admission requirements, and assess your relevant qualifications. Choose the program that best suits your interests, educational and career goals. At Ca' Foscari you can apply to up to 3 study programs at the same time.
Familiarization with university deadlines and preparation of necessary documents
For the 2024-25 academic year, Ca' Foscari will hold two rounds of applications for undergraduate programs: in the spring, with the application deadline in March, and in the summer, with the application deadline in May. Prepare the documents required for admission: exam results, language tests, academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, essays, CV and other documents.
Entrance exams
Applicants must pass the entrance exams - the TOLC-E test or English TOLC-E at home (TOLC@CASA) - the Italian equivalent of the UNT or the SAT test - and send the results of one of the above exams along with the application for study. TOLC-E is taken offline in Italy, English TOLC-E at home (TOLC@CASA) and SAT can be taken online. Filling out and submitting an application for training
You can create a profile on the Ca' Foscari website using this link, complete and submit your application form along with the results of one of the TOLC-E or SAT entrance exams: https://apply.unive.it/ You will need to pay an application fee of 30 euros. If you apply to several programs, you only need to pay the application fee once.
Decision on the application
After receiving your application, the results of the entrance exams and payment of the entrance fee, Ca' Foscari will review the applications within 2 months and make a decision. Applications are reviewed on a competitive basis and applications are awarded points based on the quality and completeness of the documents submitted and the results of the entrance exams. Registration for studies (Preliminary stage)
Once you have received notification of a positive decision on your application, you must confirm your acceptance of the course in writing, pay the initial tuition fee and begin pre-registration for your studies. The pre-registration application must be submitted through the Universitaly online portal at the following link: https://www.universitaly.it Instructions for completing the application are available at the following link: https://www.unive.it/pag/40813/ Due to the high volume of pre-registration requests, this process may take up to 5 weeks. Please check your email and Universitaly profile regularly to ensure you do not miss any notifications about pre-registration confirmation or the need to make corrections or provide missing information.
Applying for a student visa
Once you have received confirmation of pre-registration from Universitaly, you can go to the Italian Embassy/Consulate to apply for a student visa (type D visa). To find out where and how to apply for a visa to Italy and what documents are needed, follow the link: https://vistoperitalia.esteri.it/home/en Once you have received your visa, do not forget to upload a copy of it to your profile on the university website at the link: apply.unive.it to confirm your enrollment at Ca' Foscari. You must also start booking accommodation in Venice.
Registration for studies (Final stage)
After pre-registering on the Universitaly portal and receiving your student visa, you must complete your registration. To complete your registration, you must upload scans of the following documents to your profile on the university website at the link: apply.unive.it: 1. Copy of your student visa. 2. Secondary school leaving certificate/diploma with official translation into Italian/English; 3. Certificate of validity (Dichiarazione di valore) of your education documents issued by the Italian embassy/consulate or a certificate of comparability of your education documents (Statement of Comparability) from CIMEA; 4. Language test results. Declarations of Value can be requested from the Italian embassy/consulate in the country where your certificate/diploma was issued.
