About University

Károli Gáspár University is one of the reformed higher education institutions in Hungary, offering courses in the humanities, health, economics, religious studies, law, education and social sciences. Although the university itself was founded under this name in 1993, its legal predecessor, the Pest Theological Academy (after the unification of the city in 1873, the Budapest Reformed Theological Academy), had existed since 1855. With the foundation of the university in 1993, the Reformed educational institutions that existed at that time and were already active in the 19th century were revived and united under the leadership of what became Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary.
