During the initial and preliminary discussions at SFU, the FIC proposal (then called IBT) generated much controversy. FIC is operated by Navitas Limited, a publicly listed Australian education company (formally International Business and Technology Education Ltd.).
FIC currently has over 1,300 students. FIC students come from over 35 countries/regions.

How to Enroll
Follow these steps to apply University of Simon Fraser (Fraser International College)
Submitting an online application
Visit fraseric.ca/apply . There, fill out the free online application form, attaching your transcripts, English language test results, and a copy of your passport photo page. Once your complete application is received, a decision will be made within two business days.
Receiving an offer
After receiving the Letter of Offer you must: Sign the offer acceptance form and send it to admissions@fraseric.ca (FIC). Pay the tuition deposit specified in the Letter of Offer.
Confirmation of acceptance
Once payment has been made, you will be sent an acceptance letter, a payment receipt, and a revised Letter of Offer. All three documents must be submitted to obtain a visa. Detailed information on how to apply for a study visa can be found on the Immigration Canada website. Be sure to leave yourself enough time to submit your visa application. Please remember that accommodation spaces are limited, so please apply as early as possible.
Enrollment and arrival
Register for classes online approximately three weeks before the start of the semester. You will be sent detailed instructions on how to do this. New student orientation is usually held on the Thursday or Friday before your classes begin. You will receive a notification with more information about orientation via email. FIC has mandatory first week class attendance. If you are unable to make it on time for the first day of classes, you must reschedule your offer for the next appointment.
