The University of Strathclyde is a public research university located in Glasgow, Scotland. Founded in 1796 as the Anderson Institute, it is the second oldest university in Glasgow, having been granted a Royal Charter in 1964 as the first university of technology in the United Kingdom. Taking its name from the historic kingdom of Strathclyde, it has 30,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students and is Scotland's third largest university with staff from over 100 countries.
