About University

The University of the Pacific is an American university with three campuses united under one umbrella. The goal: to educate and prepare the leaders of tomorrow through rigorous academic education, practical experience, and public service.
The University of the Pacific began its history in 1851 and was one of the first universities in the state. In 1858, the first professional medical school in the state opened on the basis of the university, and in 1878, the first conservatory in the state.
The University of the Pacific conducts research in a variety of fields: medicine and health care, social and behavioral sciences, pharmacology, biochemistry and biophysics, engineering. The University of the Pacific (Pacific Tigers) students compete in 17 NCAA Division I sports
