How to Enroll

Follow these steps to apply University of Vienna

Preparation of documents

Scan all necessary documents and save them in the required format. Make sure your files are easy to read and presented in high quality. Combine multiple pages of a single document (for example, the front and back of a high school diploma plus legalization and translation) into a single PDF file using the online tool of your choice.

Account activation

Activate your u:account in u:space during the application period. Make sure you remember your login details as you will need your u:account later during your studies.

Uploading documents

Log in to u:space, complete registration and select the training program of your choice. Upload the required documents.

Submitting an application

Click on the "continue to submission" button and check that the data you entered is correct (especially the email address). Then click on the "submit application" button. Now the status of your application is "submitted".

Waiting for results

The Admissions Committee will process your application for admission to the degree program. Due to the high volume of applications, it may take several weeks before you receive official notification at the email address provided in u:space.

Receiving an Admission Letter

Together with the admission letter, you will receive information about the next steps in the admission procedure and about the additional examinations that you will need to pass as part of the University Preparation Programme of the Vienna Universities (VWU) before starting your degree programme. In addition to German (if you have not uploaded the C1 certificate), additional examinations may be required in mathematics, English or history/geography. Additional examinations may also be required. Since your identity must be verified, you must complete this step in person. Representation by third parties is not possible.

Make an appointment

If additional exams are not indicated in the admission letter, you must: Book your first appointment online using the appointment booking tool during your appointment window. Detailed information on how to make an appointment

Payment of tuition fees/Students' Union fee

Admission will be completed immediately upon receipt of the required fee at u:space > Financial Matters > Tuition fees/Students' Union fee.

Order a u:card and create a semester schedule

After receiving your tuition/Students' Union fee payment, you can order your student card - u:card . Additionally, in u:space > Personal matters > My documents you can print your student documents (student record sheet and confirmation of enrollment). Once you've been accepted, you can schedule your semester and register for courses. Registration deadlines are available in the course catalog on u:find , as well as in u:space .

Applying for a visa

To obtain a visa, you can apply for a residence permit at the Austrian diplomatic missions (embassy, consulate) in Kazakhstan, presenting a letter of admission.

Preparing for departure

Preparing for departure includes booking tickets and accommodation, medical preparation, collecting necessary documents, financial preparation, packing luggage, learning local rules and customs, and familiarizing yourself with transportation.
