How to Enroll
Follow these steps to apply Vienna University of Technology
Submitting an application
Applicants who hold a school leaving certificate issued in an EU/EEA country or a non-EU/EEA country must submit an application for admission by post. Please check whether you need to apply due to an existing equivalence. All international students must provide the following documents: a duly signed application form Please provide a valid email address High school diploma (officially certified copy with official translation) proof of proficiency in German at level A2 or/and C 1 (legalized copy) copy of passport ATTENTION! Documents issued in countries other than Austria must be notarized. All documents, the originals of which are not in German or English, must be officially translated. Please translate documents only after notarization. The official translation must be inseparably linked with the original document! Please note that for administrative reasons, no more than 2 applications for admission are allowed per person!
Checking documents
After receiving your application, the Admissions Committee checks the availability and authenticity of the documents. If there are any formal violations in the documents, the Admissions Committee will notify you by mail or email. If missing documents, translations, etc. are not sent within the specified deadlines, admission to TU Wien will be impossible. Therefore, carefully follow the instructions of the admissions office!
Passing an additional exam
This examination is required for the bachelor's degree programs in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical and Process Engineering, Surveying and Geoinformation, and Mechanical Engineering-Economics.
Applying for a visa
To obtain a visa, you can apply for a residence permit at the Austrian diplomatic missions (embassy, consulate) in Kazakhstan, presenting a letter of admission.
Preparing for departure
Preparing for departure includes booking tickets and accommodation, medical preparation, collecting necessary documents, financial preparation, packing luggage, learning local rules and customs, and familiarizing yourself with transportation.
Online registration
When you arrive in Vienna, you must register online before you can enroll in person at the university. After completing the online pre-registration, you will receive a serial number by email. After completing the online registration, you must make an appointment with the admissions office for your first enrollment.
Registration at TU Wien in person
Once you have completed your online registration, you must appear in person at the Admissions Office at the appointed time. You will need to present the following documents: letter of admission, admission code (from online registration), your valid passport and valid residence permit, if any. If you have a letter of acceptance for the winter semester, you can register in person at the Admissions Office until 10/31. If you have a letter of acceptance for the summer semester, you can register in person at the Admissions Office until 3/31. ATTENTION: If additional exams have been scheduled, you must register for the University Preparation Program no later than 5.9. (winter semester) or 5.2. (summer semester). Otherwise, you will not be able to attend the University Preparation Program.
