Course selection
If you have already chosen a course, congratulations, you have already passed the most difficult stage of the admissions process!
Submitting an application
The easiest and fastest way is to apply online on the course page . Find the course you are interested in and select the option "Apply online". This option is available for taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Before you apply, please make sure you understand the entry requirements for your chosen course (academic and English language requirements).
Check your email regularly
Once you have submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation email. This email will contain your ARU Student Identification Number (SID), which you will need to check the status of your application at any time. The University team will then begin reviewing your application. Some applications will need to be forwarded to departments and checked with course leaders, so please be patient! You may be contacted to ask for further information or supporting documents before a decision is made on your application. It is therefore important that the contact details on your application form are correct and up to date, and that you regularly check your email for any follow-up messages from us. Portal for applicants You can check the progress of your application on the applicant portal. You can also use the portal to upload documents required for the assessment of your application. Details on how to access the portal, as well as your username and password, will be sent to you by email shortly after you submit your application.
Receiving a decision on your application
The University aims to provide an initial response and/or decision on your application as soon as possible. Provided you meet the required English language, academic and immigration requirements, you are likely to receive an offer.
Acceptance of the offer
If you applied directly to the university, you must accept your offer on the applicant portal within 28 days (or sooner, depending on when you applied). You will receive instructions on how to access the portal in your offer letter. If you applied through UCAS, you will need to accept your offer via the UCAS Hub . To log in, you will need your personal UCAS ID and password, which UCAS gave you when you applied. There are deadlines, so please check the UCAS website to find out how long you have to accept your offer.
Fulfilment of conditions
To meet the conditions of the conditional offer, you must provide copies of all requested documents (e.g. academic degrees and English language test results). You can upload all required documents to the applicant portal. Occasionally you may be contacted and asked to provide additional supporting documents. You will be notified of this via the applicant portal and by email. It is therefore important that the contact details on your application are correct and up to date and that you regularly check your email for communications from the university.
Payment of deposit
In addition to the academic conditions, you will also be asked to pay a deposit. Please note that all full-fee paying overseas students will be required to pay a deposit before receiving their CAS. The current deposit amount for undergraduate and postgraduate courses is US$5,050; further details will be provided in your offer letter. Refunds of any deposit paid will be made in accordance with the Student Rules, Regulations and Procedures, which you will receive with your offer letter. No refunds will be made in the event of a visa refusal due to the provision of false or incomplete information to UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). To pay your deposit and fees, please visit the fee payment page .
Getting CAS
Before you are issued a CAS, you will need to complete an immigration history form. You may also be asked to provide documents that you intend to use when applying for a visa. You can find more information about obtaining a CAS on our immigration page . Once you have received your CAS you will be able to apply for a visa, but please note that this will not be issued until three months before your course start date.
Start of visa application
If you have received an offer to study, now is the time to think about a visa and plan your trip to the UK. Currently, student visa applications take at least three weeks to be processed, but in some countries this period may be significantly longer. We strongly recommend that you apply for a student visa as early as possible. Visit the Immigration page to learn how to prepare for your interview and what you need to know before applying for a visa. Already have a visa? Then you can start planning your trip . Don't forget to book a place on the free International Orientation Programme , where you'll receive all the information you need to make a successful start to your studies at ARU.
