Checking entry requirements
Before you apply, please read the entry requirements carefully in the How to Apply section of your chosen course page. A variety of qualifications are accepted including, but not limited to, A-Levels, T-Levels, BTEC Extended Diplomas, UAL Extended Diploma and equivalent international qualifications. Many practice-based courses require you to submit a portfolio of work , as well as a Personal Statement and academic recommendations. If English is not your first language, you will generally have to meet an English language requirement .

Submitting an application
You can apply in two different ways: Apply through UCAS with the support of a UAL representative in your country. It is recommended that you apply this way to ensure that you are fully supported and guided throughout the application process. Via UCAS (University and Colleges Admission Service) By applying through a UAL Representative, you will have access to benefits including one-to-one support throughout the application, interview and admissions process. UAL Representatives in the country can provide you with information and expert advice on all the courses we offer, advice on portfolio preparation, the application process and interviews, visas and immigration, accommodation and much more. Read our application guide for international students . The UCAS deadline for entry in the 2024/25 academic year is 31 January 2024 at 6pm (UK time). If you miss the UCAS deadline, you may still be able to apply to some courses, so be sure to check the course pages for more information.
Waiting for a decision
Once you have submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation email with your UAL Portal login details. You will be contacted by email to ask you to upload further information to the UAL Portal, including inviting you to upload documents or book an interview , so please check your email regularly, including your spam folders. Once your application has been reviewed and assessed, you will be contacted via UCAS Track or the UAL Portal to let you know whether your application has been successful. UAL receives a huge number of applications from talented students across the UK and around the world, and it is important to ensure that each application receives the consideration it deserves. The time it takes to make a decision depends on many factors, including the volume of applications, the level of competition and the availability of a portfolio. In some cases, you may receive an offer from a different course or college than the one you applied for. This happens when your application was unsuccessful for your chosen course, but the admissions officers have found another course that they feel would be a good match for your skills and interests.
Obtaining a visa
Most international students studying undergraduate and postgraduate programmes apply for a student visa using a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) - a unique number issued by the university that confirms that you have been unconditionally accepted to study at UAL. To receive a CAS number, you must have met all the terms of your offer.
Preparing for departure
Once you have successfully obtained your visa, begin active steps to prepare for departure. Book your tickets, clarify arrival details, and prepare the necessary things and documents. Refer to the university's resources for helpful tips on arrival and adaptation.
