Year 1 (from October entry) Students enrol on 1 October at the Hongo Campus and begin the taught programme. The department describes introductory courses as the required core: "Introductory courses (required core) are designed to instill the basic methodologies involved in technology management for innovation." Alongside these, students start building the mandatory spread across the three course groups and take project practicums, which involve group work and site visits with corporate and research-institute partners. Overseas training in partnership with transcosmos inc. runs for about one week during the summer break, planned by the students themselves. The degree is awarded once the thesis is accepted and the final examination passed. Master's thesis and final examination Completion of the group rule: at least three classes from Group A, three from Group B and one from Group C Remaining Group A / B / C classes and further project practicums Completion Both the programme-wide rule and the course-specific group rule apply. Programme-wide: "enroll for a period of at least 2 years, complete the required courses, earn more than 30 credits, receive the necessary research guidance, and e) have the master's thesis accepted and pass the final examinations. A Master's degree (Engineering) will be granted." Course-specific: "To obtain a master's degree, at least three classes from Group A; three classes from Group B; and one class from Group C must be taken."
